Re: 1997 540I wheels on 1991 535i?? Works?

well, lets see:

your tires are 60% of 225 which gives 135.0 mm divided by 25.4 equals 5.31
inches. multiply by 2 for both ends and add 15 inches of rim diameter gives
25.63 inches.

the combo you want to put on has these dimensions:

55% of 225 is 123.75 mm divided by 25.4 equals 4.87 inches. multiply by 2
for both ends of wheel and add you 16 inches of rim diameter gives an
overall diameter of 25.74inches.

pirelli says +/- 1% is or something like that in deviation. so lets see:
(25.74 - 25.63) / 25.63 = 0.0043 and multiply by 100 gives a deviation of
0.43%.

That looks like a good match to me. Concerning speed/odo meter its, a near
perfect match. It shouldn't rub unless the wheels (rims) aren't displaced
the same from the bolt site -- maybe others on the digest might want to
comment on offset or dish? stuff.

hope this helps.
