1997 540I wheels on 1991 535i?? Works?

Does anyone know, offhand, if wheels from a 1997 540i, P225/55 16", will
fit on my 1991 535i (currently 225/60 15")?  I really have very little
understanding of these matters and could really use a little education
here.

Will it be a straight swap?  Would the appropriate tires be 225/55 16  or
225/50 16 so as to keep speed/odometer readings the same and eliminate any
possibility of rubbing/ other problems?
