 If you get antifreeze on the belts it will sqeak terribly - flushing with
water will cure this . For general squeaking,  I usually spray just a touch
of WD 40 on the belt while running -- just enough to stop the noise and it
usually works for a long time. The a/c belt, IMO, needs to be very tight or
it will squeak in hot weather. I think the pulleys get glazed and the WD40
does something to clean them. I dont think the WD40 will bother the belt --
At least I have never seen it in 15 years or so of using it for this. Make
sure you have the proper thickness of belt so it fits the pulley correctly.
Just my experience.
