Stuck Window

Anyone with advice on how to troubleshoot a stuck driver's side power
window on a 93 525i would be greatly appreciated.
The window is stuck in the up position.    The console switch does not
work for this window but the other 3 window switches work fine.
Is there a way to remove the console and test the switch.    This
happened once before and the dealer said something must have been
spilled inside and gummed up the switches.
Any help on how to test if it is the switch on the console or the window
motor would really be appreciated.
