I was thinking about removing the fan blade and fan clutch to reduce
drag and rotating weight. I was wondering if anyone have done this on
a big 6 engine? What should I expect. In doing this I will probably
have to replace the stock auxiliary fan with something that has
greater capacity. Any suggestions on how much CFM's I will need?
I am also contemplating lighting the flywheel, when I had the one on my
02 reduced by 8 lbs. it produced whiplash inducing acceleration and
incredible throttle response. The only draw back was is the car dose
not like to idle below a 1100 rpm with dual 40 DCOE's. I would like to
keep the 635 fairly civil to drive. Any recommendations on how much
the flywheel should be lightened to give good acceleration while still
maintaining stock idle would be appreciated.
