re: clutch techniques



Yes, yes!  I've done this for years with my manual trans cars.  My wife
does the same thing in the VW Vanagon.  She finds that she can drive around
town in 3rd gear most of the time... from 10 mph up to 45 mph.  The van has
140,000+ miles on it, only 1 clutch job.  My Audi 5000 is the same way.
