Factory dealer incentive?

I went to my local BMW dealer to finalize some information on my
purchase.(323is)  The dealer apologized to me but the original offer he had
given me was no longer valid because the factory to dealer incentive($1000)
expires on March 1st, and he wouldn't know if it will be extended for
another month.  The car as I want it has to go into production and they
won't get it until end of March or beginning of April.  Now I was pretty
upset because I was expecting to be able to make a better deal considering
he was getting at least $1000 form the factory.  

Does anyone know about this dealer incentive?  Does anyone know if there is
anyplace I can call to find out if the incentive will be extended????

Please respond ASAP, because I have to give him an answer today(2/22/99)
