It's a BMW design defect.  I have the same problem.

I'd suggest a small pillow, perhaps hidden behing a
sheepskin "vest".

If you are more ambitious, perhaps you could have
a Honda blader-style adjustable midlumbar
support installed under the upholstery.  Just pump
until you are comfortable.
