Alan,
The dash vents will always blow cold air, fresh air and A/C vents. As far as
cold air blowing out above 50, close the middle dash vents. If you are only
getting hot air blowing out below 50, sounds as if you need a new heater
control valve. You can buy a heater valve kit for about $30. I had to buy
mine mail order as my BMW parts dealer only sold the whole valve. The valve
is right off the firewall below the brake reservoir.
