Using BMW's Tow Bar/Tow Rope

Does anyone know how to properly (safely) use the BMW tow rope when towing
another vehicle (short distances of course)? The BMW one really did not
come with any instructions. Also, how is the tow bar used? Are they
meant to be used together? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
