Rob, I would NOT get the Nitto NT-501's or anything else except maybe the
555's by them. Have heard many other list drivers say most Nittos are junk.
Go with those G-Force KD's we've so much debated. I can say that test drive
slalom at O'fest vs. the Comp T/A ZR's (not the ultimate, an old design as
admitted by the BFG rep) showed the KD's to be dang acceptable for that with
no street tire squeal whatsoever.
Read that yellow BFG ad, something like a 79% tread to void ratio contact
patch. Next best was the Nitto NT-555 in its ads at ~67%, all other majors
around 57-62%. I rank the KD first, with the next best the S-02PP, P Zero,
SP 8000, and Nexus. Or get the best perf/$ with the Nexus at the Tire Rack
Clearance. Trivia - there is also a KDW(et) in 215/50-16?, has a bit more
grooving.
