<E30> Seeking Buying Advice on '87 325i

I have located an '87 325i convertible and I was wondering
if anyone could fill me in on the pros and cons of this
vehicle. I haven't as yet seen the car but I get to do so 
on Saturday....its a long drive (300 miles) one way, so 
I'd rather be sure I  know what I might be getting into and
perhaps save myself the trip cause as long as one is 
selling they'll be sure to tell you anything on the phone
to make a quick sell. Any suggestions on what to ask/
look out for would be highly appreciated. Thanks
