Battery shelf e30

Under the hood on the e30 there is a shelf for the battery (which is
located in the trunk).

Ya know what?

I've got a 50 mile commute to work everyday, and I put a frozen lunch
there. By the time I get to work, the heat off the exhaust manifold has
fully defrosted my lunch. I throw it in the fridge until noon, microwave
it for 5 minutes, and I'm making music.

People actually laugh at me for this.
