<E30>Question about ETA power curve

Hello people,

Let me try to be clear and concise and exact. 

When I accelerate in my car with WOT, say from 2000 to 4500 RPM, there are
a couple of RPM ranges where the acceleration drops. After that it picks up
again. I think this is what is often called "flat spots". It's nothing
extreme, but it doesn't feel right.

Is this normal for an ETA engine (without chip), or is this an indication
there's something wrong?
