look vs. performance vs. price (new tires recommendation)

Hi there fellow faithful lovers of the ULTIMATE DRIVING MACHINE.
Today I have decided that it is time to get new tires for my 90 e30 w/the
5.5 inch rims.  I was wondering if anyone has any good advice on what
brand/model/size of tires I should put on my car.  I do mostly commuting
with the occasional spurt of spirited driving.  I need a tire that
performs great dry and especially WET.  The car goes motstly stop and go
through town rather than 50mph+ on the freeway.  And another thing too I
live in hawaii.  Finally I do not expect to pay more than $110 on each
tire or $550 altogether.  And yes I am going to replace the spare too.  

So if there is anyone there that has ahd to go through the replacing of
the tires deal lately or simply just has any good advice please let me
knoew ASAP.  I am willing to spend a little more if the tire will be worth
it.
