Brake LT circuit , me too..

On my '90 535, i've been having the "brake lt circuit" message off
and on for about 2 months.  I check the lights and they are OK. Only
seems to happen when it rains.  
Yesterday, no message, and no brake lights. checked my Bently, NO JOY.
does the microswitch sound like the place to start looking, and how
hard is it to replace ??
