Don,

Our 535s do have ABS.  The fact that you can lock them up of course suggests
that yours in not working. 

I am not too familiar with the potential problem areas, hopefully others on
the Digest will provide more insight.

Worst case, take it to your shop and tell them they have 1-2 hours of labor
to find the problem.  At the most you are then out $150.  The ABS is kind of
a nice feature to have......
