E28 recommendation

I recently requested advice in solving a starting problem with my 533i.
Thanks for the response everyone.  It stumped several local BMW service
centers. I will not try to explain the cause but to say, if your E28 does
not start call Carl. I apologize if this is considered advertising, but the
digest is about helping folks out.  Carl did that in spades.
