I had similar problem with my E36. Look for the bad connection between
the sensor cable and the cable that goes to the ABS box. However, most
likely your ABS sensor broke. That would occur if the guy who balanced
you wheels, accidently hit the sensor with something heavy (Like a
monkey Wrench, for example). To find out, which sensor is defective, you
need to check the resistance of the sensors, the resistance needs to be
approximately 1K Ohm. If the resistance is different. Either,
significatly higher or lower, the sensor is defective and needs
replacement. For E36, those sensors go for $95, but for E30 the price is
probably different. Check front sensors first, probably one of them is
defective.
