admistrivia: CCA politics and this list

i have received a private email from a list member who is concerned that
the current treasurer of the CCA has been slandered, and that my decision
to cut discussion off has prevented a spirited defense.

the flip side here is that the argument cannot and will not be resolved on
this list, but a neverending dispute will arise that will prevent the list
from serving its proper purpose, which is the discussion of bmw motor cars
and the driving and wrenching thereof.

i personally have no ax to grind here; i am completely totall uninformed on
the BMW CCA politics. having been mildly burned by club politics back when
i was active in the CCA, the one conclusion i have come to is that club
politics SUCK, and i don't want to have anything to do with them. this list
would be best off not having anything to do with them, either.

i am asking all list members to please disregard the election discussions
in their entirety. there is certainly misinformation and rumor mixed in
with the facts; it can never be properly sorted out in this forum, and
trying to do so will only damage the digest more. as it is, i've been
accused of being part of a conspiracy here, and nothing could be further
from the truth.

by the way, i am about to declare that the laws of physics cannot be
questioned on the digest, and ask mr. kibort to discontinue postings about
his silly fan device.
