E34 CD Player

I have recently purchased a 1990 535i from a friend in Seattle and I'm
looking for a CD player that will work with the factory radio. I've seen
several pioneer and Alpine units listed in Roundel( both god awful
expensive) Which of these will work with the factory radio or is there a
cheaper route?
