<E30> trunk light dead

Om my '91 M3, the trunk light is dead.  I changed the bulb but it is
still out and all connections to it seem to be tight as far as I can
see.  Is there a switch to keep it off that might be set?  If not,
I thought of a fuse, but the manual lists a bunch of stuff powered by
that fuse and nothing else on it is out.  Any ideas?
