Re: "Win a Rob Knob" contest - deadline soon

The key to the effect provided by this knob is it's greater mass.
Compared to a factory knob, the Rob Knob is heavier. Even though it's
heavier, it still has that great snug in the hand fit. Simply put,
it's a similarly sized knob that weighs more.

Newton tells us that any object in motion tends to stay in motion...

     Shifting
When you apply force to a Rob Knob equipped shifter to take it out of
gear, you transfer momentum from your arm to the mass of the shifter.
The Rob Knob has more mass and takes up more momentum than a factory
knob. As you start on your way to the next gear, you simply guide the
moving mass of the shifter, it's momentum transfered from your hand
and arm, to the desired gear position. The Rob Knob will efficiently
reuse the work you already applied to it at precisely the moment it is
     needed: going into gear.

     The Feel
You've already done the work taking the car out of gear. Now the
shifter with it's increased mass, reuses that work by coasting
naturally into the gear you guide it to. This transfer of momentum
gives you the feel of doing less work; in reality the Rob Knob enables
you to do a similar amount of work more effectively. The Rob Knob
helps do the work of shifting in a shorter period of time. It feels
     better and more natural.

Couple this with a highly efficient shifter and you have quick,
tactile gear selection at it's best!
