RE: <e-30> central locking glove box

<< From David Estes:

This is my first post of 1999, how special. I was wondering if anyone
knows the parts needed (#'s would be best) and how much they go for to
install a central locking glove-box on an e-30. Any idea of the
complexity of the installation? It should just plug into the central
locking mechanism, but I've never messed w/ the car's electricals. Any
help, ideas, or suggestions are appreciated.

There are actually four Euro e30 parts for the central glove box lock:

p/n: 51 162 232 214 (drive)
        51 162 232 426 (upper catch)
        51 162 232 428 (lower catch)
        51 261 372 068 (???)

The parts are about $150 (list). I ordered them through Dreyer &
Reinbold/ Indianapolis [see ad in Roundel (800)875-2269], which applied the
CCA discount (netting-out to about $120). Since the parts were ordered
from Europe about ten days ago, I haven't received them yet (and thus can't
comment on how easy/difficult [i.e., RR count!] they will be to install).
I will advise after I get and install them.
