Re-finishing Chrome-plated alloys?

I found a set of 15x7 E34 535 basket-weave alloys at a good price ($250/set
with much-used tires).  The only thing is that they were chrome-plated by the
dealer, and the chrome is peeling.  Has anyone tried to restore chrome wheels
to a silver-painted finish?  Any success?  

Alternatively, is anyone selling a set of basket-weave alloys, either 15" or
16"?
