The E28 amplifier is in the trunk, hanging from the left side of
the parcel shelf. I assume you're saying that you got a new CD-player head
unit (not a changer that you want to plug into the stock radio). You will
probably end up re-wiring the car from scratch, the original radio's wiring
goes to the amp directly, not to the speakers. To tap into the wiring for
the speakers, you need to get into the one big connector coming out of the
amp... it's such a PITA (although I did it for an E30) that you will spend
only slightly more time but get better results (new, thicker wires
hopefully) by running all-new wires to all four corners of the car.
