re: my 2002 died, i need help, URGENT please

BTW, be VERY careful about using the word "restore". What "restore"
really means is that you will get the *correct* vinyl, the *correct*
headliner, and the *correct* "gummihar" (horsehair) padding for the seats...

The word "restore" is so overused that it doesn't mean anything at all.

And, oh yeah, it COSTS to do a proper resto, and you will likely never
recoup the costs of a real resto in any sale of the car, so it should be
  done for love, not money.

I don't have anything against the "restore"ation crowd but a 2002 doesn't
need to be a money pit. The cars are old and most
haven't been kept up, so it will cost alot in labor if you pay someone
else to fix it up. Considering the market for 2002s, I would say
"restore"ing a 2002 would be a very bad investment. However, using
used parts and your own labor they are cheap fun cars.

Best 35 bucks you will ever spend.

A great resourse for parts, discounts, information, etc. It would be
hard to imagine owning a 2002 without being a member.

For a performance motor, I would start with the guy who does my work, Carl
Nelson at La Jolla Independant BMW. 619 488-1555

A good source of parts too.
