<E30> frozen locks

Jeff,
In Canada all BMWs come with heated locks. My lock cylinder just broke and
I had to replace it. The heated locks could be installed in a non-heated
locks car.
You will need to buy a few new parts:
61 31 1 374 784 Control Unit Door Lock Heating (replaces 61 31 1 375 197
Contact Interior Light Retarder)
51 21 1 375 188 Heating Ring Left
I am not sure if you need the Bracket 51 21 1 906 403 or the one you have
will work. My guess is that it will work.
The heating ring replaces the clip that holds the cylinder lock secure.
The Control unit plugs in the same place as the Contact Interior Light
Retarder)

This may not be a cheap proposition though. Check prices at your dealer.
Also, working inside the door is a pain!
I hope this helps.
