 Ahhh... a clue.. 

 OK.. one of three things happened..

 1) The crankshaft sensor is intermittent..

 2) The DME Main relay is intermittent..

 3) The power supply To the DME (as in the ignition switch/etc) is intermittent

 (I leave out the DME itself, as it's very unlikely to have an intermittent 
  DME in cases like this)

 You know this because the tach read ZERO.. that means either the DME is not seeing
 the crank sensor signal, or it's off itself..

 Did you have a CHECK ENGINE light on?!?
