<e28> mostly questions

My recently acquired 535is has been getting better by leaps and bounds.
It's pretty rewarding at this stage as minor effort yields big results.
Many thanks to all who have contributed e28 information, and especially to
the web site owners who make finding all the info. possible.
Question 1: My car does a little hula between full and off throttle,
visual inspection reveals the (dreaded) torn rear subframe bushings.
There's a procedure written by Mark Fiumara at
http://www.eskimo.com/~dalus/bmw/repair_faqs/subframe.html pertaining to an
e30. Is the e28 procedure more or less the same? Any other sage advice?
Riddle 2: The car has Boyds aftermarket wheels. The through hole is
3-1/16" or 77.8 mm., with a pretty big chamfer on the back (I mention the
chamfer because it is almost as deep as the hub protrusion). The e28 hubs
appear to be 72.5mm. The car has no hubcentric spacers now and the wheels
are just centered by the lub bolt chamfers (I assume this is not a good
thing). Is there a spacer available for this combo? If so, what's the
p/n? If not anyone want some wheels? :o)
Inquiry 3: Plastic "chrome" strips around the windshield and back window
have no chrome left. I have never done any windshield work myself and am
wondering is this something I can tackle, or just pay a windshield pro a
few $$$ to do it? Bentley offers no clues on this.
Conundrum 4: Euro Lo/Hi headlight conversion is $72 for the pair at
Eurasian, any better prices out there?
Many thanks in advance, and if you want the answers to these queries, send
me a post and I'll consolidate all the advice in a reply. Light snow
falling here in Seattle now, house smells like a Christmas tree, all kids
napping, AAAHHHHHHH
