While Duane gave great advice (as he usually does) prior to this
statement..........I've really gotta disagree with the above (well, the light-
duty harness is an excellent idea).

Run street tires at auto-X's and track events until you are consistently
beating the guys who are running stickies (trust me, it will happen soon
enough). It's hard enough to pick up a lot of car control skills when you're a
beginner in an M3, why aggravate that fact by getting sticky tires that will
allow you to 'overlook' your mistakes.

I think you should first concentrate on getting the basics down (about a
season or so of auto-x'ing and/or 4-5 schools), then modify your suspension to
suit your tastes (make an educated purchase, don't just buy something because
a few guys said they liked it), and _then_ when you have become comfortable
with your suspension, etc... and are around advanced level (or better) at
drivers schools, then you might want to look into stickies.
