The UUC Motorworks' Rob Knob improves shift feel due to the increased
mass at the top end of the shift lever. This mass helps dampen
vibrations through the shift lever, and uses inertia to provide
smoother, cleaner shifts. The theory behind it is this: because it
weighs more, you need to exert more energy to get it moving. However,
once moving, it wants to continue moving, which helps overcome some of
the notchiness inherent in BMW shifters. This provides the driver
with a better shift feel. Yay Rob Knob!
