Speedometer Fuse

I have a 1984 318i and the speedometer quit recently. I have confirmed
that the components in the differential are working properly. It looks
to be in the dash. Is this model or year famous for these types of
problems?

Assuming the transmitter is OK, try replacing the speedometer fuse.  I've
sold a few of these for E30 cars.  SD
