Well I was hoping someone would come up with some part numbers as I
had the <almost> exact same question. After someone suggested that I
RTFM, I read it and the supplemental owners manual states that with a
215/45 tire, BMW approved snow chains may be used. Has anyone
purchased these things? Please speak up!

I plan on getting some 215/45 Pirelli P210's and a set of chains
within the next week or so. I *NEED* them. Well sort of, if I have
to drive my M3 to the Midwest over the Christmas break there is no way
that I'll make it past the Snoqualme (sp?) pass w/o chains. Been
there, done that, had to do it in my beater 320i last weekend and I
had to put on the chains (cheap ones), a requirement. So why not take
the trip with this car you say? It's fine for a 3 hour trip, but not
up to the 4 day trek that requires me to drive ~3,000 miles. It has
no windshield washer capabilites for starters, then there's the whole
trust/reliability issue.

Now who's got the chain part numbers? My dealership sure as hell
doesn't.
