Here are the facts:

1. Virginia State troopers aren't stoopid.
2. It doesn't matter what kind of detector you have if you get caught in a
"detector trap" (ask me how I know).

Here is how it works (according to the Trooper that stopped me): two
cruisers are parked along the interstate @ 1-1.5 miles apart. The first guy
is hidden BUT he has a clear view down the road in the direction of traffic.
His radar is OFF. He sees you go by, alone, or maybe in a pack, and maybe
he thinks you are speeding. On goes the radar. What do you do when you get
a strong detector alarm? Hit the binders, right? If you do, he sees your
brake lights. Just so happens he radios his tag team partner and says "Pull
over the BIMWAD, he just hit the binders." They check (search) your car,
usually if you are straight with them it's a $50 fine. If not, a $50 fine
and you lose the "device"..... I stopped using my detector but, YMMV. They
may not get you for speeding, but, they may just get ya.
