E36 suspension-kinda long

Alright, I've asked this queston before, and gotten alot of good answers, but
I just don't know what to do. I've been stuck in a suspension dillema for
months, trying to decide what to do with my 92 325is-- I love my luxo ride!
I'd like to upgrade it to the ride and handling levels of an M3 (which,
relative to its level of performance, is a very comfortable ride), but all the
upgrades I've looked at seem to be more extreme. (my production date will not
allow the use of an M3 take-of suspension) I guess I carve corners pretty
hard, easily to the limit of the stock suspension, so I want to increase
roadholding and decrease roll, without going to low (worried about dragging
the nose) and still being able to pass the "girlfriend test".
As it stands, I'm considering the H&R OEM sport springs (.25" reduction) and
the AC Schnitzer springs ( 1.2" reduction, supposed to be VERY luxo ride with
improved cornering and use of stock shocks if I don't want to upgrade) with
either Bilsteins or Konis ( if at all). The claimed ride of the Schnitzers is
a big advantage. Any opinions or suggestions?
Maybe I'm looking at this all wrong... I understand how shocks work, I
understand how springs work, but I don't see how they work in conjunction.
What is the role of each component? Would I be better off upgrading just my
shocks/struts or just my spings? I've considered starting with RD Sport
swaybars, but is there a danger of lifting the inside wheels during cornering?

I can't believe it's this hard to find an M3 level upgrade... I just don't
want to forget that my BMW is a luxury car!!

Thanks for helping me sort this out!!
