Brake duct hoses

Michael:
The dryer hose won't last a day as brake duct hose. There is too much flexing
and pulling and squeezing between suspension parts down there. I also think
that the temperature will be too high (at least at the backing plate end) for
either type. Even the neoprene duct hose sold by race shops has a tough time
at the backing plate end.
For the amount of silicone hose you need you'll only spend about $30 for the
right stuff. Besides 2.5" hose works best given the space constraints under
your car, and dryer hose comes in 3"...too big.

<< I went to the local hardware megastore, and was looking at the sections
of dryer hose for my winter project of brake ducting my 88 M3. What I
saw there was either the foil kind or plastic.

I know they sell hi-temp hose at race shops, but it is quite pricey
 compared to this stuff.
This car is my daily driver and sees a couple of schools a year.

 Thanks
