NO clutch when cold

Ken Mitchell complained of no functional clutch when his 535i was cold.  I
see this often when the crankshaft-to-transmission input shaft pilot
bearing is failing.  If the bearing sticks, the crank holds onto the tranny
regardless of what the clutch is doing.
  I've also seen sticky clutch discs cause this.  Excessive "sticktion" can
result from oil contamination etc.
