The Modifications page on my web site has a write up of the
parts needed and a few of the things to watch out for. My
sixer was converted about a week ago and is practically
identical to an E28. I'm glad I had the work done. 

Biggest tip - look hard for a Gertrag dog-leg box.

AFAIK any tranny from an M30 engined car fits. I used a
Gertrag 262 which is MEANT to be a four speed unit but mine
is five speed! Anyone ever heard of a five speed 262?
