ABS Problem, <E30>

Fernando,

The problem you are experiencing is due to the boost that your daughter got.
There is something in the ABS system called and ABS Overcharge Relay, and
it's job is to short out before any major electrical surges get to the ABS
computer and do some real damage.

If you are lucky, your car comes with this piece of equipment. It seems
that some E30's had them and others didn't. I think your car does have this
relay and you are therefore safe. Once this overcharge relay is replaced,
you will again have access to your ABS system.

The relay is located in the dash on the left side of the steering column.
Just pop out the 4 retaining screws on your dash panel and look up close to
the light switch. The ABS computer is a large silver box (sort of like the
DME) and the relay will be somewhere near it.

Good luck, and let us know what happens,
