Re: <E28> M5 Windshield Replacement Advice Needed

John Weese asks about a replacement windshield for his E28 M5.

John:

When I last replaced my windshield, I tried to get OEM German glass from
the dealer. Unfortunately, what BMW NA is selling is a domestically
produces glass. Even more unfortunately, when the windshield was
installed, it had major distortions in it, as did the next three we got
from the dealer.

As I had to drive to San Diego the following day, I put in a non-BMW,
non-OEM windshield which had the virtue of being flat, at least.

So, whichever brand you get, check it carefully to be certain it has no
distortions.

Regards,

Keith
