Over-revving
Even IF the fuel is cut off, the car has momentum going forward, which is
transmitted MECHANICALLY through the drive train to the engine. If the
wheels are turning at a speed that would require the engine to be above it's
'rev-limit' the energy HAS to go somewhere. Either the clutch disengages or
the engine goes at mega-rpm. Just cutting fuel of can't remove the
mechanical linkage.
The engine won't be driving the wheel, it's the other way round.

Isnt this covered by the rev limiter that is engaged when the revs go over
the certain limit. (fuel cut off will stop a over rev dead in its tracks.
No fuel, no more rev , it is that simple)
