E34 rear interior light conversion done!

Today I converted my single bulb rear C-pillar lights to the dual
dome/map light setup. The existing rear interior lights had only two
wires. The red/wht was hot at all times and the brn/red wire was hot
until the door was opened or console switch turned on. I'm still not
positive if the replacements I got are the correct assemblies, but I
made them work! On the right rear assembly I connected the red/wht (hot
all the time) wire to one side of the dome light. I connected the
brn/red wire to the other side of the dome light. A metal flange inside
the assembly jumpered the 12v from the red/wht wire to one side of the
map bulb. I had to install a ground wire to the map bulb switch in
order for it to operate correctly. Oddly, on the left rear assembly the
metal flange did not jumper 12v to the map light so I had to do that
with a separate jumper wire. I also had to provide a ground for the map
switch on this side also. Conveniently, there was an unconnected brown
ground wire which I connected to behind the right rear C-pillar and an
unconnected black ground wire behind the left rear C-pillar which I used
for grounding the map switches. A little more work than it should have
been but all is working as it should now - independently working map
lights and domes work as they should too. Thanks for your responses!
