Quick ? about Bon Ami

Sorry--I know this question has been asked before on the Digest, but I 
don't remember the answer when it was discussed 'way back when: Can someone 
tell me if the Bon Ami that's recommended for cleaning the windshield is 
the common sink-cleaning compound? Or, can anyone share their tips on 
getting the glass back to pristine condition?

Thanks in advance. (Just put some new Bosch MicroEdge wiper blades on, so 
that's not the problem.)
