My 10/95 M3 currently has 27,000 miles on it.
The differential clutches started making noise around 16,000 miles. The
transmission started slipping out of gear and otherwise "acting up"
around 19,000 miles.
Hendrick Imports of Charlotte put in a new transmission with updated
mounts last month. It's currently in the shop to get a new differential
(it started "crunching" a few weeks ago and I didn't want to wait any
longer). All of this was/is covered under warranty.
So yes, these are warranty items and yes, there are still some dealers
that provide good, honest service (Hendrick Imports of Charlotte).
