Re: Nutserts for X-Brace

Last summer during the BL/SS frenzy there was also a lot of information
flowing about the installation of nutserts for earlier model E-36 to allow the
x-brace modification. One of the better sources of information (Ron Stygar's
web page) carried information on where to obtain nutserts and installation
tools. Unfortunately, it appeared that Ron had to jump through some hoops to
get the parts. (Bless his heart.)

I recently made an order for some aircraft parts from Wicks Aircraft Supply in
Highland, Illinois. 800-221-9424, www.wicks.com/aircraft

There catalog lists nut-serts & tools, although not in metric sizes. They
list 6-32 up through 3/8-24. All sizes are in stock, with no minimum order.
I used the 5/16th at 22 cents each. There are two tools, a disposable one
that is advertised to install up to 100 nut-serts, and sells for $5.52. It
worked great.

I glanced through a couple of other aircraft catalogs, and it appears that
almost all aircraft supply places carry these.
