<E28> questions

OK, I have now heard everyone slag off on the 528e engine in the 87 e28. I
have a question though. On my 87 528e, I have a random hesitation when
accelerating. Sometimes it is there, other times not. It is a slight lurch
or flat spot in the acceleration. I realize that this could be anything, but
I would appreciate some starting points to check out. I am fairly new to
this car and so have not even gotten my Bentley manual yet.

A second question pertaining to a totally different subject.....
The previous owner put tint film on the back window. In NC, we have tint
density laws and this stuff failed inspection MISERABLY! I have 30 days to
remove it. How would one go about removing window tint film? Is there even a
HOPE of saving the rear window defroster?
