A Few Thoughts

Hey everbody (obligatory misspelling):

I have a few thoughts:

1) I'm gone for 36 hours this week and have 18 (!) new Digests. I come
back from lunch and have 3 new ones... I don't think I have a big enough
hard disk to store all the Digests I'll accumulate this weekend.

2) In the good old days, like two weeks ago, I got a manageable 3-4 Digests
a day, which I could read during lunch, etc. It seemed like I got more
good information per day from those 3-4 Digests than the current 18-20.
Maybe I just hit pagedown too quickly.

3) Shouldn't Richard have blown the whistle about 200 posts ago on the ERAM
thread?

4) Is it possible to limit the number of posts or the size of total posts
per e-mail address? I don't ever remember anyone having 3+ posts per
Digest that are all long (or at least take up a lot of space) and having
them all be positive contributions.

5) I know someone suggested this, but no one seems to have heeded it. Why
not just ignore boring, repetitive, angry, repetitive, abusive, repetitive
threads and they will go away naturally?

6) Would there be interest in a reasonably expensive service that edited
Digests down to only the interesting and the entertaining ones? I'm
thinking $20/week per person. Okay, this is just a joke. For now.

7) If the current volume of Digests continues, I'll have to quit my day job
or quit the Digest.

Sorry for the lack of misspellings and for the generally proper grammer,
but I actually reviewed the letter before I hit SEND.

Respectfully yours,
Donn
