>y understanding is that the 3.0 E36 M3 engine pulls much less than 800 c=
fm
at high RPM/full throttle.
<<<<<<<right, it will pull 250 to 300 max you are right . (ignoring
volumetric efficiencies, so call it 300 cfm)
My K&N cone filter flows 800 cfm, so the only
restriction now is the design of the engine itself
<<<<<<<<<<<<<wait , here is that marketing thing again, I love it. al=
l =
filters will flow 800 cfm, probably 2000 before they fall apart
the 800 cfm bench test is designed to test the restriciton of the k/n ver=
se
a stock set up. ( all flow the 300 cfm or the car wouldnt beable to rea=
ch
red line , right????? and the more he restriction the more the vaccum =
in
the air box or cool air tube, and this would tell us how much air you are=
really drawing. ) (ie, if you had 1 psi vacuum in the tube at 6000rp=
m,
the air drawn would be at least 8% less or so. =
I think it would be a great test of your device to see if we could get a=
ny
more horsepower out of
the engine just with the addition of the device. We could set up the
device so that it blows its extra 550 cfm directly into the K&N cone
filter. =
>>>>>>>>I agree, but my offer of a very fine screen would keep any small
pieces from entering you engine. (im thinking of a computer screen with
.050 holes in it. maybe finer, ill check) =
My heat shield is basically an insulated enclosure and with the
device right next to the filter, there shouldn't be any loss of its
function. If your device works as you suggested, then we should see a 4%=
increase in HP from this change.
>>>>>>>>remember , some of the gain is in the pressurizing of the air tub=
e,
the fan's exit has to be air tight if it is goin to add to the manifold
pressure. I would have to develope an enclosure that bells out around t=
he
filter . . I got it!!! a bladder . You know thehard plastic bladders
that you use at th hospital, we will put it over the filter, and attach=
the fan to that.
sound the easiest for the test. i agree, the tube type air cleaner cars=
could be helped the best because they are flowiing well already.
Ship it to me and I'll get the work done.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Let me find that hard blatter for the test, or let me=
know if you want to use a very fine screen after the filter.
Ive run this fan for years and nothing hasfallen off, everything is
locktited, sealed bearing motor, solid impeller, 1 set screw, and we can
make the filter catch this. everything else is solid. =
let me know, Ill do it!!!
