<e28> bolt on brake upgrade HELP!!

Tom,
    It sounds as if the rotors and/or calipers are not E32s. My upgrade
went like a charm on my '88 535iS.  The first set of of used calipers I
got had  frozen pistons in them and I couldn't get them on.  I ended up
buying new calipers without the carrieres from Ultimate Garage(Steve
D'G) for $100 each.   I would check that first, yours may be frozen
also.  Other that that, I would make sure you got the right stuff, it
does go right on.
